Tamika Miller

Partner at Miller Smith, LLC

I want all of my clients to have a firm understanding of their case and the laws surrounding it. If they don’t understand, they can’t participate and if they can’t participate, they play no role in the outcome. They’re left feeling helpless. No one likes feeling helpless.

My Philosophy

I am a people-person, relator I suppose, so the practice of law was the right career choice for me. I have never met a stranger and enjoy connecting with people and assisting them with their problems. I went into law because I want to help people by being a zealous advocate for those who need assistance. I recognized the legal process was so complicated many people did not know where to begin. I want to be known as the type of attorney people feel comfortable calling, knowing that I will answer their questions and address their concerns.

Many people go into law because they love to argue. They’re more likely to be aggressive and confrontational. While that makes for great TV, it seldom wins cases. Cases are won through preparation and problem solving. There is always a strategy behind it but it’s not an aggressive strategy, it’s a calculated, problem-solving approach.

There are enough people in the industry filing impersonal claims and shuffling in and out the door. I want to work with people. I take the time to understand your problem, then I work with you to see the solutions, and we implement the best strategy for you and your unique situation.

Yes, it’s unconventional for a lawyer to write a bio in the first person but a formal approach to my bio just doesn’t fit the kind of personal approach I bring to the law.

I am a Florida girl, who found her way to Alabama to attend law school. I have always desired to serve in the legal profession as an attorney, and enjoy the opportunity to serve those that live in Alabama. Being a relator to the core, I enjoy the relationships with my clients and serving them every day with integrity and dignity.

I began my legal career as a judicial clerk to the Honorable Charles Price, the Presiding  Circuit Court Judge for the 15th Judicial Circuit. As a judicial clerk, I was required to interact with different types of people from all walks of life and at all times treat them with dignity and respect. I learned relationships are everything in the practice of law.  I learned how important good relationships are between the client and their attorney; how to practice law with integrity and always treat your clients and others with dignity and respect.

These tools have taken me far and help me to work well with you through your legal matter.  Furthermore, that position had a profound effect on me and assisted in shaping me into the kind of lawyer I currently am – supportive, approachable, and committed to helping my clients.

So, don’t go through your current troubles alone.

Choose an attorney who can help you navigate the intricacies of the law, while providing you a better understanding of your legal matter.
